Byron Bay

Whilst we rushed through lovely Noosa, when we arrived in Byron we had a bit more breathing space and stayed for 2 nights.
Byron is delightful, busy enough to have a good vibe but not touristy enough to be annoying. It’s a classy surfer town with a huge amount of great restaurants.

Sadly with no surf, the activities were largely on the beach, and with a shark spotting in the morning, I was in no rush to go for a dip. Luckily there was a large swimming pool adjacent to the beach, similar to the one in Sydney. I made full use of this.

Going for a hilly, coastal walk we aimed to reach the lighthouse for sunset. Failing short of our objective, we settled for a quiet beach instead.

This was my last night before heading back to Melbourne for my flight home.
